It seemed to suit me, since I am a night owl staying up late editing photos and what not.  This intrigued me and it took a little to grasp the Milky Way, getting all the details, learning new settings, and finding locations, etc...  I installed apps on my I phone so I could find the location in the sky, searching for darker areas with less light pollution. Milky ways are only shot when the moon is not present, so you can capture the details in all it's glory with a tripod and slow shutter speed. So this was the first this year, which was low across the sky before it turned vertical, as it rises throughout the night and the season. It starts in the southeast early spring and moves across more to the south. This was near my house and somewhat dark location on a gravel road, not as dark as I would like, but since it was the first of the season, after a very clouded winter, I was just happy to get back out and photograph at night. Each place is so unique and different than the next. The night life is quiet and full of nocturnal nature. :)

2021 https://www.jingersnapsphotography.com/blog/2021/1/2021 It's a new year and I'm hoping a great one for all. I think it's about time I share this blog with my FB peeps. I am working on some new stuff, new styles of editing, trying to improve my craft, and exploring new areas. Photography is a big world of knowledge, and there is always room to learn. Surely makes it a challenge for me, and love it all the more. There is something in every season to photograph in Oregon. Winter is challenging, unless you get into higher elevations where it snows. But one of my favorites of this season is shooting in the fog. There's something about the ghostly background that brings out the richness of the hues and textures of your subject. Especially where water is involved. And seeing the fog rolling in seeping into the tall pines is such eye candy to a photographer. This is a shot that was taken at Cronemiller lake, hiking at Peavey Arboretum that connects to Mcdonald forest in Corvallis. There are many beautiful trails to this lake. Enjoying exploring them all.

Hello and Welcome! https://www.jingersnapsphotography.com/blog/2017/2/hello-and-welcome Well, I finally did it!  My website is up and running. Thanks to all my friends for their encouragement!

As you all know the passion behind this, and the hard work and of course, fun adventures going about with my two little buddies.

This summer I was fortunate to have my son Ryan here with me to go out and shoot at new places. I thank him for all the unique and fun places we went and photos we took.

Feeling blessed , and I will keep everyone up to date on my new adventures , especially now that spring is here!

Peace to everyone this fine day!  Jinger Snaps
